DIY :Lip Scrub ( Tip for soft lips )

One of my absolute musts is making sure my lips are soft, flake-free and lipstick ready.

To get my pucker perfect, I concoct a lip scrub that works wonders:

All you need to do is combine:

-       Sugar – you could use white or brown sugar. The coarser the grains, the more exfoliating action.
-       Oil – you can use any light oil. Try extra virgin olive oil, almond oil, or even coconut oil.
-       Honey

-       Bowl

Step One:

Blend all ingredients in a small container, measuring equal parts of each ingredient in your bowl.

- If you want more graininess, add in more sugar. Likewise, if you want a smoother batch, add more olive oil or honey.

Step Two:

Apply the mixture to the lips, and really scrub off the dead skin and dry patches. 

  

Step Three:

Take the scrub off by either wiping it off with your hands or a wash cloth. 

Step Four:

Wala! Beautiful nice soft lips ready for some Chapstick or lipstick ;)

DIY CROP TOP

STEP ONE:

- Gather your supplies together which will be some old tights or leggings ( whatever you like) . You will also need some scissors .

HINT: Tights will give more of a mesh type of top whereas leggings are usually a thicker material and will look more like a shirt . 

STEP TWO and STEP THREE :

- Lay a pair of tights on a flat surface and smooth them out.

- Cut the crotch out of the tights to create a head opening

STEP FOUR:

- Adjust hole size to fit and desired neckline.

STEP FIVE :

- Cut the feet off the tights. The legs of the tights will be the arms of the shirt.

STEP SIX:

 - ENJOY ;) 

HINT:

- Hand wash 

- Depending on the thickness of the garment, you may need to wear another shirt over or under the tights shirt.

Ever curled your hair and wanted the curls to last though the night when you sleep? 

Just wear a bonnet at night ;) . Trust me it works wonders.

DIY CURLS

The time has come , its what you been waiting for , today is the day  I will show you my way of achieving "wanded curls" ! =]

What you will need:

-  a curling wand 

- heat protection spray 

- protectant gloves ( if needed ) 

Step 1
- Pick up a small section of hair. The rule that applies with all heat tools applies to curling wands as well: don’t try to curl too much hair at once.The best curls happen when you use small sections .

Step 2- Make sure to brush or detangle your hair and use the heat protectant products to protect your hair from the high levels of heat. ( it is always important to protect your hands from the curling iron so wear heat protectant gloves if you like ).

Step 3
- Face the curling wand downwards

Step 4
-  Wrap your hair around the wand but going downwards . You want your hair to start at the thickest part of the wand leading all then way down to the tip of it .

Step 5
- Hold your hair on the for a couple seconds but no longer than 15 because your hair could easily burn and break off . 

Step 6
- Remove the wand sliding your  hair downwards off of the wand. Hold your hair in the curl for about 10 seconds before letting it drop. This last step is a personal preference but I feel it create and maintains the beautiful curls and helps it last for days.

- Repeat steps 1-6 to complete your whole head ;).

Amazing Day to Thift !

Today I went to the Unique , which is a local thrift store in my neighborhood! Thrifting is a fun hobby of mine, I love the idea of being creative and I love to recontruct some of the ideas I find. Below is short clip of me in Unique and a pictures of the items I picked up! =]

DIY Dream catcher nails

Nail art can sometimes seem complicated when you just see the finished manicure, but once you read through these step by step nail art tutorials you will realize just how easy it is to do it yourself. Nail art is a fun, simple way to be creative and dangerously addictive! 


DIY manicure – what you’ll need:
-  Cotton balls or cotton pads
-  Cuticle groomer or cuticle cream
-  Nail clipper and nail file (try to avoid metal files as they can be damaging)
-  Nail buffer
-  Nail polish colors and nail art tools
 Basics
-  Start out by cleaning your nails with cotton balls and nail polish remover. 
-  Gently push your cuticles back with your cuticle groomer or apply cuticle cream. Don’t cut your cuticles yourself!
-  Clip your nails to your desired length
- After cutting your nails, make the edges smooth with a nail file. 

-  Continue to smooth your nails by using a nail buffer on the surface of your nails.

( buffing your nails makes your manicure last longer ;) )

Step 1
- File and buff your nails

Step 2- Apply a base coat 

Step 3
- Apply white nail polish as your base nail color. Let it dry then apply another coat.

Step 4
-  Take your black nail art polish and draw a ' X' . Let it dry.

Step 5
- Draw a couple more ' X's '  ( the trick is to make them connect to create a abstract affect )

Step 6
- Repeat steps 1-5 on each nail
